HSDC will select 4-6 dancers from the EXPLORE and CREATE Summer Intensive programs to join the Company for a World Premiere creation process through a week-long residency during the 2025-2026 Season.
Our CREATE Intensive is a four-week program for pre-professional and early-career dancers ages 18 - 25.
Program Objectives
Allow dancers to engage in creative processes with diverse choreographers in an inclusive and innovative setting.
Program Dates + Schedule
June 9 – July 3, 2025 (No classes or rehearsals will be held on June 19th)
Classes are from approximately 9am - 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Dancers must be able to attend all four weeks of the Program.
Program Curriculum
Dancers will explore, research, and collaborate with Hubbard Street Company Dancers and Guest Choreographers Maleek Washington and Ching Ching Wong. In addition to the creative process, dancers will attend one technique class daily. Group mentoring sessions and educational discussions are also embedded within the program schedule.
Program Structure
Every participant will have the opportunity to work with two guest choreographers. Dancers will work with external guest artists in a class size of approximately 30 dancers.
In addition, every participant will engage in the creative process with one Hubbard Street dancer. Participants will work with each HSDC dancer in a group size of 12 to 15. Onsite casting will be held for placement into pieces created by HSDC dancers.
An open sharing will be offered at the conclusion of the program.

2024 Housing Fees: $1,889
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration to secure enrollment in our programs. The total deposit fee will reflect your enrollment and any optional amenities you choose.
Housing
Housing is an optional amenity offered for Summer participants. Hubbard Street provides housing for students, just a short walk from the studios. Suites are air-conditioned, apartment-style housing with a 24-hour security guard. Each suite contains a common living space, kitchen, and shared bathroom. Apartments come with basic dorm-style furnishings. Kitchens are equipped with refrigerators, stove-top oven, and microwave. The cost of housing includes wireless internet, utilities, and free laundry facilities. Meal plans are not offered as part of our CREATE Intensive housing package.
Housing is an optional amenity not included in the cost of program tuition. Please note that housing is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. All housing fees are non-refundable.
