"Inside/Out" Choreographic Workshop

A RARE GLIMPSE OF THE CHOREOGRAPHIC TALENT WITHIN THE COMPANY.

RAW • CHALLENGING • ADVENTUROUS

At “Inside/Out”, HSDC dancers take on the role of choreographer when they create their own works and set them on fellow company members. The result is an amazing evening comprised of fresh and fun new works that may ultimately be brought into HSDC repertoire and premiered in Chicago, such as Brian Enos’ Diphthong (2003), Lucas Crandall’s Gimme (2004), and Alejandro Cerrudo’s Lickety-Split (2006).

2010 “Inside/Out” Event:
The 2010, “Inside/Out” Choreographic Workshop Performance will encompass 10 to 12 separate dance installations in the AIC galleries taking place on one evening - June 17 at 6 p.m.

2009 “Inside/Out” Event:
The 2009 “Inside/Out” choreographic workshop performances on Saturday, June 29 added a new layer by challenging the participating dancers to create site-specific works in various spaces within the Hubbard Street Dance Center itself.  For the first time ever, the HSDC warehouse space was transformed into an event-worthy performance space. It was raw, gritty, and fabulous!
